Pura Timba Weekend with Yusimi & Soca

Discover the richness of Cuban dance through musicality, body movement, and the distinctive qualities of Cuban dances such as Son and Cha-cha-chá. In this class, we focus on body awareness, styling, expression, and the details that make your dancing stand out. Develop a deeper connection with the music and bring more confidence, flavour, and personality to your movement. Perfect for dancers who want to deepen their understanding of Cuban dance and discover new ways to express themselves through movement.

This unique 3-hour experience invites you to dive deeper into the connection between two incredible Orishas, Ochún and Changó, exploring their energy and relationship through dance, live music and tradition. Together with Yusimi and Soca, we will dance both Orishas, discover how they connect and explore the sacred stories (patakís) behind them. Expect 2.5 hours of dancing, combined with cultural insights that bring a deeper meaning to your dance and expression. Everyone will have the opportunity to dance Ochún with Yusimi and Changó with Soca. This class is open to everyone, but previous experience with the basics of Afro-Cuban dance is recommended.

In this class, we will explore the basics of Rumba Columbia, starting from the very beginning. We will work on rhythm, coordination, and the fundamental movements of this Cuban dance style, discovering its character. No previous experience is needed. We will dance to live music!

Join Soca for an immersive journey into Rumba Guaguancó, exploring both solo movement and partner work through rumba abierta, musicality, and the playful dialogue of vacunaos. This is a truly unique opportunity to experience the energy of rumba abierta while deepening your understanding of Guaguancó with two exceptional artists! Together, we will develop movement, expression, and a deeper connection to the music in this 2-hour session accompanied by live music. Most of the class will be danced solo, making it accessible to anyone with a basic understanding of Rumba Guaguancó.
